Learning & Education Strategy for the National Authority on Indoor Comfort
1. Developed tools and methodologies to identify the right market and audience for a focused education strategy
2. Created a Learning & Education Strategy to modernize programming to meet the needs of today's learners
3. Identified and prioritized all workstreams and initiatives required to execute the strategy
4. Developed an implementation roadmap to serve as a blueprint for long term management of the learning & education strategy
The Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada needed to modernize its approach to maintaining and developing new course content for the Learning & Education program.
This program had been providing industry leading technical training for HVACR technicians and designers across Canada was was broadly recognized as the authority on post-apprenticeship training in the field. HRAI needed to embrace new adult learning methods and virtual training technologies in order to develop and maintain educational material suitable for the modern learner.
HRAI engaged Differly to develop a strategy for modernizing their approach to developing and maintaining all learning & education offerings.
We began by facilitating a series of conversations to understand the current state of the learning & education program to identify and validate the needs that must be addressed by the new strategy. Together with the leadership of the program we aligned on a vision for the future of learning & education at HRAI that would best support the needs of the organization while having a greater impact on both learners and the industry.
In the next phase of work we performed a comprehensive analysis of the financial and learning impact performance of all current offerings to provide the leadership with a holistic view of what is already working well and to begin to reveal where new opportunities are to be found. We documented all of the gaps between the current products, processes, and resources that support the learning & education program and those that would be required to meet the goal of modernizing the program.
We created a roadmap that details all of the workstreams and initiatives that would be required to bridge the gap between the current program and the vision. This sequenced and prioritized roadmap now serves as a blueprint for the leadership team to tackle a complex set of interdependent initiatives in a systematic way such that they can make clear and steady progress towards the goal of a modernized and program-based education program fit for the coming decades.
Throughout the process we also developed many tools and processes to be used in the implementation roadmap. These included tools and processes for: identifying and assessing new opportunities; rapidly and effectively testing and validating new educational product opportunities; and determining the modern learning formats and delivery methods that are best suited for each existing and new educational product.
At the conclusion of the project, HRAI had a clear path to follow in the coming years to bring the vision for the learning & education program to fruition, along with the necessary tools and methodologies to execute.
